Project Seed

‘Shaking tables’, especially mental tables, was one of the numerous goals we had in mind when we headed to an underserved community in Ogun state where several girls had been denied access to formal education and exposure to relevant STEM knowledge.

The purpose of Project Seed symposium was to enlighten the more than 250 girls in attendance, about the technology and the information-driven global village which the world is presently in.

The event comprised an energetic session with the Keynote speaker, Ms Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani and mentorship sessions across different age groups with knowledgeable facilitators. A knowledge contest was displayed amongst the girls where c.130 of them expressed their intelligence until only 10 were left on the stage, after which the winners were awarded monetary scholarships towards education. The scholarships appeared to be very much needed seeing how the parents and guardians of the girls were moved to tears.
